Instructor Training Course

This is the final step in the instructor development process. Candidates make a number of academic, confined water and open-water teaching presentations, as well as learn more about continuing education and the business of diving.
Who?
Who Can Enroll? This course is open to divers who:

- Are at least 18 years old.
- Be certified as an Associate Instructor
level or the equivalent of another association.
- Have logged at least 75 dives. 24 dives
in the last 12 months.
- Have secured a physician’s approval for diving within the past twelve months, based on the standard Medical History/Exam form.
What?

What is involved? This course consists of:
- Self study.
- Complete an Open Water Instructor Evaluation.
- Written Final Exam.
- Complete 4 open water training dives.
- Provide proof of current training in CPR.
- Provide proof of current training in first aid.
Where and When?

Where and when do classes take place? Classes take place at the following places and times:
- Classroom and pool sessions take place at The Dive Shop.
This course is a 2 day evaluation.
- Open-water training dives take place Saturday and Sunday. You
will be conducting a open water training course.
Starting dates include:
- Dates and times are flexible based on the individuals schedule.
How Much?

How much does it cost? The course fee is $250.00 per person and includes:
- Instruction.
Students are responsible for supplying all of the equipment items listed below, plus:
- Instructor Kit.
- Processing Fees
- Instructor Insurance Fee
- Provide own dive equipment.
What Equipment?

What equipment will you need? Students are responsible for supplying all of the equipment items listed below:
- Mask, snorkel, fins.
- Adequate exposure protection.
- Weight system, weights.
- Buoyancy Control Device (BC).
- Regulator/alternate air source.
- Depth gauge/timer or computer.
- Audible surface signal.
- Surface signal (safety tube).
- Dive tables and slate.
