Tech Fundamentals Course

Tech

Getting into technical diving involves the use of vastly different (and more complex) equipment than recreational diving does. Dive planning and procedures are vastly different as well.

To help ease this transition, we offer the Tech Fundamentals course, which provides a comprehensive introduction to the equipment and procedures tech divers use and follow.

As part of this program, students:

  • Are introduced to double cylinders, stage and deco bottles, back plates, harnesses and wings, and other tech-specific gear.
  • Experience the fundamentals of guideline and reel use.
  • Learn about the specialized dive planning and team procedures that are unique to tech diving.

This course provides an important foundation for subsequent levels of Tech training.
