Alpena

July 31-August 1, 2010: Frequently visited wrecks on this trip include:
- E.B. Allen - Depth 92-106 ft: This wood schooner sank in 1871 after a collision with another ship. It was carrying grain at the time. You can still see the windlass, anchor chain, and rudder.
- Grecian - Depth 70-105 ft: A steel freighter built in 1891. This is a popular site in Alpena with much to see. Tools, railing, machinery, and the propeller sits in 105 ft of water.
- Montana - Depth 33-74 ft: The wooden steamer burned to a total loss in September of 1914. The hull is intact and upright. You can see the windlass, anchor, boiler, rudder, huge propeller, and more.
- Nordmeer - Depth 0-40 ft: This ocean-going freighter stranded in shallow water. This wreck is broken up but covers a lot of the lakes bottom. There is a lot to see and a great place to take pictures.

Many ships ended up at the bottom of Alpena lake floor due to fog banks and sudden gales along with the rocky shoals. With a shipwreck sticking out of the water to depths deeper than 200 feet.
